PRP legislature party today lodged a complaint to the Speaker of the Assembly Ms. Sobha Nagi reddy for defying the party whip during the division of the TDP’s no-confidence motion in the house early this week.

Speaker immediately served notices on Sobha Nagi Reddy asking her to be present at his office and furnish explanation on her defiance of party whip on Dec 19.

Following the instructions of the party president Mr Chiranjeevi, PRP MLA Ms Vanga Geetha met Speaker Nadendla Manohar in his chamber and sought the disqualification of Sobha for voting in favour of the no-confidence motion.

Though PRP has been merged with the congress, PRP members still have their own identify in the house technically as party president Chiranjeevi has not yet formally submitted a letter to the Speaker.

Going by this, PRP leaders only have to lodge a formal complaint with the Chair on defiance of whip and seek disqualification of the member concerned. (JUBS)
