With the CBI informing the Government of the arrest of senior IAS officer Y. Srilakshmi for her role in the illegal mining case involving the former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhan reddy, the government is likely to suspend her from the IAS.
The CBI officials informed the Government of her arrest on Tuesday through a note containing the reasons that led to her arrest.
The arrest and her judicial remand has sent shockwaves to the IAS community and they are seething with anger with the felling that they are being made scapegoats and politicians are escaping the axe in most of the scams.
The IAS officials are also angry that a section of the media has been passing judgments over the involvements of IAS officials. The IAS fraternity has now decided to stick to the principles and rule book while signing files and GOs.
“Unless the concerned minister makes a written recommendation, we will not sign any files from here afterwards,” said an IAS officer.(JUBS)
