The CBI special court at Nampally in Hyderabad today sent the senior IAS officer Srilakshmi to three days of CBI custody.
She was arrested by the CBI in the illegal mining case involving the former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhan reddy and produced before the special court on Monday but the court asked the investigating agency to bring her to court this morning. When she was brought to the court, the court remanded her to judicial custody till Dec 12.
However, the CBI sought her custody for a period of 15 days to question her. Special judge Nagamaruthi Sarma then remanded her to three days of CBI custody and asked the CBI to interrogate her in the presence of her lawyers.
The court asked the CBI officials to produce her in the court by 4 PM on Dec 1. Meanwhile, Srilakshmi also filed another application seeking A class prisoner status in the jail. This petition will come up for hearing on Dec 2. (JUBS)
