In the wake of the statement given to the CBI in the presence of a magistrate by Mr Konda Reddy, son of former congress MLA Mr Varadarajulu reddy, against the YSR Congress chief Mr YS Jaganmohan reddy in the illegal mining case, the Government ordered security to Mr Konda Reddy.

The Government has ordered two plus two security to Konda Reddy since Tuesday as he is going to be a key witness against Jagan’s involvement in granting leases for iron ore mining for the Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) owned by Gali Janardhan reddy. This means two armed constables would accompany him round the clock.

Mr Konda Reddy told the CBI and the magistrate that he was forced to withdraw his court case and mining applications by Jagan for favoring the OMC.

It is however not known whether the security was offered to him on the advice of the CBI or at the behest of the state Government or at the request of Mr Konda Reddy himself.
