The President on Thursday issued orders appointing Kerala High Court Chief Justice Mr Jasti Chalameswar as a judge of the Supreme Court.
Chalameswar, hailing from Pedamuthevi village of Movva Mandalam in Krishna district, took over as the Chief Justice of Kerala High Court on March 17, 2010. Earlier, he was Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court for more than three years.
Before being appointed as the AP high court judge on June 23, 1997, Chalameswar worked as additional advocate general of the state. Justice Chalameswar took his law degree from the Andhra University in 1976.
Born on June 23, 1953, Chalameswar had his early education at the Hindu High School in Machilipatnam and graduated in Science from the Loyola College in Chennai. His father Mr Lakshminarayana also worked as a lawyer.
