
In the backdrop of the mass general strike getting intensified with more and more people joining it for achieving Telangana state, the congress MPs of the Telangana region today held a meeting at the residence of MP Mr Komatireddy Rajagopal reddy in Hyderabad and discussed the future course of action to be adopted.
Later, MP Mr Gutta Sukhendar reddy told journalists that the agitation would continue till Telangana state is achieved.
“The steering committee of the congress leaders of the T region will meet at 8 am tomorrow at the residence of Rajya Sabha MP, Mr K. Keshava Rao to discuss the issue further,” said Sukhendar reddy.
Komati Reddy threatens fast
Minister Komati Reddy Venkatareddy today threatened to resign his post and undertake indefinite fast from October 2 at Nalgonda if the formation of Telangana state is not announced by September 30 by the Centre.
Speaking at a Meet the Press programme arranged by the Telangana Electronic Media Journalists’ association at the Hyderabad press club, the minister found fault with the RTC management for removing the contract employees from services.
Meanwhile, the TDP leaders of the Telangana region made fun of the minister’s threat and described it as a political drama.
