The JAC of the Telangana employees’ Associations had served a notice on the government that they would go on indefinite strike from any moment after August 1 if there no declaration of the Telangana state before July 31.
The leaders of the JAC met the chief secretary Mr SV Prasad in his chamber in the secretariat Thursday evening and handed over the notice.
The notice says that there would be continuous agitation of mass leave, hunger strikes and indefinite fasting programmes and related activities from August 1 if the Telangana Bill is not introduced in Parliament before this month end. “There after we may go on an indefinite strike any moment,” the leaders warned the government in the notice.
The JAC leaders later told journalists that they won’t be deterred with arrests or any other action of the police once the agitation begins. “We will continue to agitate even if we are arrested, dismissed from services and jailed under ESMA. We will ensure that essential services also will not work in the Telangana region,” the leaders warned the government. “We are first Telangana citizens and then only we are employees of the government,” said the leaders.
The leaders also warned that the government would be held responsible for the terrific consequences if the agitation is suppressed. They also asked the congress ministers of the T region not to attend to work. “We know you are signing the files at your homes. We will stage dharnas before your houses if you don’t stop signing the files,” they warned the ministers.
