T cong MPs adamant on quitting

T cong MPs adamant on quittingEven as the jittery congress high command is trying to cajole the T congress MPs, MLAs and MLCs not to precipitate matters with en masse resignations on the issue of Telangana, the congress MPs of the Telangana region have sought an appointment with the Lok Sabha Speaker Mira Kumar at 11 am on July 4 to submit their resignations.

The MPs are leaving for Delhi on Sunday to meet the Lok Sabha Speaker for submitting their resignations.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s political secretary Ahmad Patel called up Keshava Rao and other senior leaders of the T region and asked them not to precipitate matters with resignations but wait with patience for a decision on the demand for formation of Telangana state.

After this, the MPs, MLAs and some of the ministers met the PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana in the Gandhi Bhavan and told him to tell the high command that nothing short of Telangana formation is acceptable to them.

Going by the developments, the T congress leaders are not in a mood to listen to the high command on the issue and are seemingly determined to go ahead with their resignations.
