Senior congress leader G. Venkataswamy, 82, also called Kaka by party leaders and activists, was last night admitted to Yashoda Hospital at Somajiguda in Hyderabad with multi organ failure. The Kaka, who was sick for the last few days, had also suffered a massive cardiac stroke Friday evening.

Doctors attending on the congress leader described his condition as very serious and said he has been put on ventilator.

While the civil supplies minister D. Sridhar Babu rushed to the hospital to enquire about his health and talk to the doctors, Chief Minister Kirankumar Reddy called up his son and MP Mr Vivekananda over phone and enquired about his health.
