Naidu demonstrates for farmers, arrested

Chandrababu NaiduPolice today arrested former chief minister and TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu in Maganuru of Mahaboobnagar district for staging a Rasta Roko demanding higher support price for the paddy in the state. The police shifted Naidu and his TDP supporters to the Krishna police station.

Addressing the party supporters and workers who participated in the Rasta Roko earlier, Naidu lambasted the government for ignoring the welfare of the farmers. He also visited Market Yard at Devarakadra and spoke to the farmers.

Naidu said that the cash transfer scheme is the only solution to help the farmers in the state. “The government has no concern for the welfare of the farmers. The government must pay attention to solve their problems and announce the reasonable support price for them,” he demanded.

TDP cadres all over the state today resorted to Dharnas and Rasta Rokos demanding the government to purchase the paddy for support price.  Naidu participated in the Rasta Roko as part of this state wide agitation.
