In the wake of reports that the TDP leadership may initiate disciplinary action against the party senior leader Nagam Janardhan reddy for defying party directives and stalling the proceedings of the house on the issue of Telangana, Janardhan reddy today defended his action and said he had acted as per the wishes of the T people.
However, the defiance of Nagam has irked his T colleague Mr Motkupalli Narasimhulu who took the former to task for forcing adjournment of the house.
It may be mentioned that Nagam had created a ruckus in the assembly today by raising the T issue and forcing its adjournment twice.
Speaking to reporters at the Media Point in the assembly, Narasimhulu said that Nagam has been behaving as if he is the only protagonist of the Telangana issue. “Nagam is posing as if he is the only person concerned for the Telangana cause but T state will not be formed just because he stalls the assembly or resigns,” he said.
Another MLA Revanth reddy said that party leadership will take suitable disciplinary action against Nagam Janardhan reddy. “He is trying to prove himself as a hero and show us as villains and culprits before the Telangana people with his individual actions,” said Revanth.
Earlier, Narasimhulu requested Janardhan reddy to meet party president Chandrababu Naidu to sort out the issue but Nagam refused to meet him.
Meanwhile, Nagam defended his action saying that he could not keep quiet while the Seema Andhra TDP legislators defied the party directives and stalled the proceedings for two days continuously.
“If I keep quiet, that would send a wrong signal to the Telangana people,” he said, adding that the Seema Andhra TDP MLAs violated the party discipline by raising pro-United AP slogans in the house last week.
