The VIII additional metropolitan sessions judge of Nampally criminal courts on Thursday rejected the anticipatory bail application of Sirish Bharadwaj, the second son-in-law of mega star Chiranjeevi, in the dowry harassment case filed against him by his wife Srija.
The court rejected the bail plea of Sirish, but granted conditional bail to his mother Surya Mangala, a co-accused. Srija on March 14 lodged a complaint with the women's wing of the Central Crime Station alleging that her husband Sirish and mother-in-law Surya Mangala were harassing her for dowry.
The court said that police had prima facie evidence against the main accused Sirish and anticipatory bail can’t be granted in this case. The court granted bail to Surya Mangala and said there were no serious allegations against her. Since she was a government employee, getting anticipatory bail was not difficult for her.
