MLAs come to virtual physical blows

AssemblyCongress and TDP members had a virtual physical fight in the assembly today when agriculture minister and brother of the late YSR Mr YS Vivekananda reddy moved towards the TDP benches threateningly and heckled at two TDP members for holding placards denigrating YSR.

Viveka moved towards the TDP members, dragged out the placard that read “YSR dongala mutha” (YSR’s gang of thieves) from the hands of the TDP legislature party deputy leader Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu and tried to hit another TDP member Ch. Prabhakar.

Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar adjourned the House immediately as he expected more trouble with the members trying to fight physically.

The trouble began in the House when the MIM members, raising slogans, had barged into the speaker’s podium demanding the constitution of a Joint Legislature Committee (JLC) to probe the illegalities in the allotments of wakf lands made to various companies by the YSR regime.

Not lagging behind, the TDP members also stood up holding placards and demanding the constitution of a JLC to probe the land allotments made to companies in the name of SEZs by the late YSR. The TDP members prominently displayed a placard that said “YSR dongala mutha”.

Pandemonium prevailed when congress MLAs owing allegiance to the YSR Congress president Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy too stood up objecting to the placards and raising slogans in favour of the late YSR. Some congress members of the Telangana region also contributed to the noise and ruckus by raising demands in favour of separate state of Telangana.

Viveka moves threateningly

During this pandemonium, Viveka moved ahead towards the TDP members in a fit of anger, dragged out the placard from Muddukrishnama Naidu and tore it into pieces. When he was about to hit the TDP member Prabhakar, other TDP members came to his rescue and pushed Viveka away avoiding a virtual physical blow.

Sensing the situation was going out of control, Manohar adjourned the house. The TDP members later met the Deputy Speaker and demanded action against Viveka.
