CBI questions IAS officer Sri Lakshmi

gali janardhan reddyCBI team, investigating the irregularities committed by the mining baron and Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan reddy-owned Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC), Friday evening questioned Y. Sri Lakshmi, senior IAS officer on her role.

Sri Lakshmi, who worked as the secretary, Industries department between 2005 and 2009, granted leases and licenses to the OMC and CBI reportedly found some irregularities in the licenses. She is the first IAS officer to be questioned by the CBI in the OMC case.

Sources said that the IAS officer told the investigators that everything was done as per the procedure but maintained silence to most of the other uncomfortable questions.
