Hardly a day after the reported killing of the Al-Qaida terrorist leader Osama Bin Laden by the US forces near Islamabad, the Hyderabad police started getting phone calls threatening terrorist attacks in Hyderabad.
The threatening calls were received by the Police Control Room following which a red alert was issued by the police. The police machinery has geared up itself to tackle any eventuality in the city.
Armed police and Rapid Action forces are being deployed at key and sensitive points in the city and elsewhere. Police have already started investigations to find out the details of the telephone callers.
Meanwhile, bomb disposal squads today defused a bomb that was found in Bandlaguda area of the old city of Hyderabad.
