80 Staffers in Hyderabad Police Academy Tested Positive for Coronavirus:- The National Police Academy (NPA) located in Hyderabad has been badly hit due to coronavirus pandemic after 80 staffers are tested positive with coronavirus. 80 staff members from the administrative and maintenance departments of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) are tested positive. All these 80 members are sent to quarantine. A passing out parade (Dikshant Parade) of a new batch of 131 probationary IPS officers from the 2018 batch took place on September 4th. A senior official from the academy made it clear that the staff members are not involved in training duties.

The tests were conducted for all the staff members in a phased manner and all those who are tested positive are sent to quarantine. The officials clarified that all those who are tested positive are stable and are recovering well. Several restrictions are now imposed in the National Police Academy and the outsiders are not allowed to enter currently. The entry as of now is restricted only for staff members whose presence is mandatory. The administrative works are postponed as of now. It is also heard that 30 people have already recovered and they are tested negative for coronavirus. Telangana state reported 1802 new cases on Monday and the total cases in the state are said to be 1,42,771.
