Well whenever I start on Sachin Tendulkar, I feel a million hearts of core cricket fans, praying for his success. The Master Blaster who is the Demi-God of a million cricket fans globally has got records behind his name more than any global player, I suppose. However his new innings in the Rajya Sabha did have some shortfalls. Immediately there were uproars in most oppositions, as his name was now associated to one party in the nation of billion populace.
The issue that is raised here because Sachin is a national icon like the Taj Mahal. He has fans cut across the party, community and languages lines. Now he being associated to one party makes his fans little disturbed. And this could be attributed for the controversy. However, if some say that he is novice in politics that should be felt absurd. As the cricketer admitted that his nomination was in recognition on the cricket field and it is an honor that could not be avoided.
On field or in Rajya Sabha as the Congress MP, Sachin's gentleman gestures never cease. If one remembers well on the last match between Chennai and Mumbai Indians in the fifth season of the Indian Premier League that concluded recently, the way he sacrificed his wicket, which did cost the team. But it was a noble gesture according to cricket pundits. The Master Blaster once again proved his nobility by declining the government palatial bungalow offered to him at Delhi. He said, "I am not keen on staying in any government bungalow when I will be in Delhi for only a few days. I feel this would be a waste of tax payers' money and it would be better if the bungalow is allotted to someone else who needs the bungalow more than me," the Press Trust of India quoted him as telling a private TV channel.
Again the star emerges as a hero where ever he is. Acknowledging people's support the icon exclaimed, "It's good that people expect things out of you otherwise it can get boring. But I don't feel people are putting pressure on me. In fact I feel they are with me. "The master accomplisher with a hundred tons behind him is the cynosure of fans still on field.
"There have been tough times too. You can't have a path without speed breakers. But all you need to do is change gears. My family has helped me during rough times. My wife Anjali, my brother Ajit have helped me cope up because I can open up with them," he added. (With Inputs from the internet- AarKay)
