Nepal never had a good economy but they can be proud of one person now. Binod Chaudhary becomes Nepal's first billionaire listed by Forbes.
Binod Chaudhary is now officially the 1342nd richest person in the world with his income from the Wai Wai instant noodles which are popular all over the world. He has plans to open stores in India and introduce the cheap nutrition to the countries in Africa. This should come as a respite to Nepal which has always been dragged down due to several issues and crises recently.
In India, he plans to open more units to manufacture the noodles in Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan now after his success in Uttarakhand, Assam and Sikkim.
His grandfather migrated from Saurashtra in Rajasthan to Nepal several decades ago and his father opened up a departmental store. This is where he picked up a business facing an extremely arduous path to become the only billionaire in Nepal.
He recollects that when he was in Mumbai at the age of 16, standing outside the Taj Hotels in awe, his guardian warned him, Durwan will slap you if you step inside the hotel. He says he would like to spend sometime outside the hotel when he comes to Mumbai at precisely the same point in every visit.
Success comes from hardwork and nothing else. This man has proved it.
