-Shri Modi- Gujarat Chief Minister
The people of Gujarat have yet again reposed their faith in the dynamic and development oriented policies of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by Shri Narendra Modi. In the just concluded elections in 76 Nagarpalikas, the BJP has captured 49 municipalities whereas the principal opposition Congress party has emerged victorious in only 7. Others/Independents have won in 8 municipalities.
Out of the total number of seats that went to the polls, the BJP has won in 1149 seats whereas the Congress could manage to win in 425 seats. 53 seats have elected representatives from other parties and 261 Independents have won.
The results are significant because earlier, the Congress controlled 20 municipalities and have not been reduced to 7. In terms of seats held the Congress has 608 seats but that tally has dropped to 425!
These victories come less than two months after Shri Modi led the BJP to a record victory in the 2012 Gujarat Vidhan Sabha elections. Shri Modi himself took oath as the Chief Minister for the 4th time on 26th December 2012.
Moreover, as a matter of fact Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is clearly emerging as the front runner for the BJP's Prime Ministerial Candidate in spite of the warning by BJP President Rajnath Singh to not name leaders. The loud uproar for Modi continues to grow louder at the three-day National Executive meet where the party is putting together its strategy for the 2014 General Elections.
On Saturday, Rajnath praised Modi for being elected Chief Minister three times in a row. In fact Rajnath welcomed Modi on stage and said that it's not proper for him to welcome Narendra Modi just by using words, so he would request all to stand up and welcome him with an applause while saying all countries are talking about Modi's developmental model and that under Modi's leadership they have won Gujarat elections the third time.
Moreover, BJP leader Vinod Khanna said the party is ready to decide the Prime Ministerial candidate and that Modi is undoubtedly the front runner and that all the capabilities of all the candidates will be considered by the party, and then the candidate will be declared even though now Mod is the front runner.
BJP National Spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman added that there is lot of interest in Modi and said that a formal announcement will be made soon, while Najma Heptullah said that that whoever will be suitable will be decided by the party.
According to the sources the Gujarat Chief Minister is likely to be made the chairman of the BJP election committee but a formal decision unlikely to be taken till the end of March and that all eyes are on Modi's role in the run up to the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections. Rajnath added that there are many challenges that lie ahead of them while the the council is expected to ratify Rajnath's election to the post of party president.
On Saturday, the three-day conclave of BJP kicked off with the spotlight on the Gujarat Chief Minister, highlighted by some as the party's Prime ministerial face, throughout the course of voices in the party that his popularity has grown significantly remarkable on the national body.
To conclude, its has been known that Mr Modi will be making a presentation on "good governance" before the party leaders on the last day of the National Council meeting and so would Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on "Antyodaya".
Modi's achievement is a prevalent fact behind his popularity among all.
What more we need to justify his dynamism as a Leader, and what does a Leader need more to justify himself?
It's in fact a learning lesson for other leaders that how a dynamic personality can work for dynamic motive in politics for the National prosperity!
