Biting cold in Delhi, schools remain shut

The mercury in the national capital region, Delhi has been dipping like never before. Today, the temperature was recorded at 2.7 degrees Celsius. This happens to the be the lowest temperature this season. Notably, the thick fog was also disturbing the traffic on the road. It was due to the same reason that even flights are running slowly and some flights were even reported to have postponed the schedule.

Meanwhile, Delhi Government has directed all the schools in the city-both private and government-to remain shut until January 12 keeping in view to the extreme climatic conditions in the city. At first the government asked to close down schools to the first week, which was extended to 12th of this month. This government has also said that a few parents complained to them that some schools were functioning despite the orders in place. Therefore, the government once again asked all the schools to remain shut and adhere to the orders of the Government.

On Wednesday, Delhi witnessed the coldest day in the last 44 years. And today, the cold was worse than that of yesterday. When it comes to extreme temperatures (in all seasons), Delhi always stands first. That's why it was often advised not to go for a trip to Delhi especially in winters and summers.
