An armed miscreant allegedly shot dead a customer at Corporation Bank last evening and looted fifteen lakh rupees from the bank. This incident has sent shock waves among all the customers over there. According to the police, the murderer was in mid twenties. He barged into the bank in Chikkanabavara branch and downed the shutters. Aiming his gun at the customers and staff, he shouted the bank staff to keep 15 lakh rupees ready for him failing which he would allegedly shoot them. He also threatened them of dire consequences if anyone acts smart.

Forty-five-year old Muralidhar was also present over there, who came to bank for some transactions. On looking at the armed person, Muralidhar tried to approach him. Miscreant then shot him in his right shoulder, decamped the money and fled from the scene unhurt. Muralidhar was rushed to nearby hospital where he succumbed to bullet injury. A case was registered against the miscreant and investigation was underway.
