Mughal Era treasures in UK exhibition

Several treasures which belonged to the Mughal era, of great historical importance to India such as the gem-studded crown donned by Bahadur Shah II, the last emperor of the Mughal Dynasty that ruled India for more than two decades, would be on display in an exhibition in UK.

Paintings, jewels, rare ornaments, several highly detailed manuscripts which have notes on the prodigal lives of the affluent Mughals would comprise the Mughal treasures which are to be displayed in the British Library's exhibition.

According to Telegraph, the “fly-whisk” with several gems and a rare jade, worn by the personal attendant of Shah Jahan himself is also available on loan in this private collection. This dates back to the mid seventeenth century.

Embellishments and valuables that belonged to the father of the person behind Taj Mahal, Shah Jahan, are also set to be on display for the exhibition which would be open to public next month.
