Discussion with Sonia misinterpreted: Sushma Swaraj

It appeared as if the BJP has slightly yearned after the phone call from Sonia Gandhi but the BJP remains relentless as the Lok Sabha remains adjourned. The phone call was earlier misinterpreted as a breather for the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh but it is unlikely that the BJP would relent on the issue as they continue to be at their heels demanding his resignation.

However the Bharatiya Janata Party also expressed willingness to keep away the resignation of the Prime Minister and put an end to the impasse of the Parliament sessions but on a condition that the PM has to allow a probe and cancel the allocations.

The Congress leader Sonia Gandhi however in a telephonic conversation with Sushma Swaraj said that the cancellation of the coal block allocations cannot be done and the same with ordering  a probe. All the intentions to push a bill or two to be passed among the din in the houses were crashed after the sessions stopped even before they completely began today.

Sushma Swaraj and her teammates had gone back to older habits demanding the resignation. She said, "The interpretation of my conversation with Sonia Gandhi as BJP giving up its demand for the Prime Minister's resignation is wrong," Swaraj when she was in Mumabi.

She told the Congress, "If you agree to both these demands (cancel allocations and order probe), then we can start the discussion and Parliament can function". She also added that the BJP was ready for mid-term polls. She said that they had not relented over the issue of the resignation of the Prime Minister and that he should accept the moral responsibility for the scam in allocation of the coal blocks.
