PMC to give cash compensation against land in Kharadi

The standing committee has made a decision to payout cash compensations agains the land acquired in Kharadi on Tuesday.

“The cash compensation are generaly given out as transferable development rights or Floor space index but we have decided to pay in cash”, Baburao Chadere, the chairman of standing committee said at a media conference on Tuesday.

He said that an area measuring 1700 Sqft was obtained in Kharadi for which a compensation of Rs 17 lakh is to be paid to the owner. The media questioned if the same procedure of cash compensation would continue in the future to which he answered “no”.

2 owners from Karadi and Baner had proposed for a cash compensation against acquisition of land. One proposal was sanctioned in Kharadi and a decision in the case of Baner would also begiven out soon. The standing committe was to issue this decision a week ago but was delayed due to another proposal that suggested the privatization of a slaughter house in Kondhwa.

Another tender approving the laying of a water pipe line between Chatushrungi and Erandawane for Rs 10 crore was also approved by the PMC.
