Sree Anantha Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Kerala is back in news as the Experts Committee (set up the Supreme Court) have opened another vault for examining the treasures. The sources said that the doors were opened on Friday. And today, the expert committee will resume the work. The Supreme Court appointed Experts Committee for scientifically documenting priceless treasures of the famous Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple here has resumed its work by opening another underground vault. Chamber-A of Padmanabha Swamy was opened today. This chamber was said to have contained priceless jewelleries and gems. An imported equipment to assess the value of stones was kept at the temple.
The expert panel is headed by MV Nair. It may be noted that an oversight committee (which was also appointed by the Supreme Court) opened four of six vaults last year. They witnessed priceless wealth and gold and it was then that the news spread across the globe. The oversight committee was, however, not asked to assess the value of the treasury in terms of money.
The experts' committee, which opened the underground room today, will assess the value of the treasure and submit the report to the Supreme Court. If buzz is to be believed, Vault-A contains jewellery worth over Rs. 10 lakh crore.
