CM Chavan seeks speedy trial and punishment of the guilty

Maharashtra Chief Minister Chavan has reacted on the Adarsh Society Scam case by seeking a quick trial of the case and suitable punishment of the guilty. The Central Bureau of Investigation would probe the scam case and file a chargesheet immediately.

Chavan had mentioned the case without naming it at a function in Pune. He said “The case that is now popular with the media is still going on and I wish it would reach the concluding stage soon. A proper and speedy trail should be held while the guilty would be punished putting an end to this issue”.

Chavan has reacted on the daily coverage of the scam progress by the media by saying that it could damage the government's reputation and the way the people would think of it. He said that such scams usually have cases that remain unresolved for years and meanwhile the people would lose faith in the government.

A final review of the case would be performed by CBI and the accountability of the CM and the involvement of the Ex-CM of Maharashtra would be recorded in the chargesheet. Chavan is the first person on the list of the CBI accused in the scam along with 14 other Union Ministers. A chargesheet against the accused would be filed tomorrow before the case is presented in the Bombay High Court.
