A 20-years-old child rapist was arrested by Mumbai Police after receiving a complaint while the accused was raping the nine year old girl for the second time lastweek. The accused Venkatesh Bender resides with his family at Andheri (W) and works as a driver for private cars. The victim who studies in class III is the daughter of working parents and resides in the same locality.
According the police, on June 16, when the girl returned home from school, no one was present at her residence. The accused stealthyly entered and raped the poor girl. The aghast girl did not complain to the parents fearing worst. But later again the very next evening the rapist struck again when she was lonely. This time a passer by who was also related to the girl heard her screams amnd alerted the locals. In the meantime the accused ran away.
A case was registered under sections 376 and 511 of the IPC at D N Nagar police station. And the accused had been arrested. Senior police inspector Sanjay Satardekar told media, “The accused was on the run, travelling the south of India by car. We have arrested the accused and handed him to the D N Nagar police, as the case is in their jurisdiction.” (With inputs from internet- AW AarKay)
