At least six persons were killed and over 15 injured in an explosion that rocked Kareli area of Allahabad at around 4 PM on Wednesday.  The police who plunged into action are reportedly yet to find out the cause of explosion. Kareli is a slum area in Allahabad. Explosion took place when  a couple of children were playing near a garbage dump. The sources said that the explosion took place due to a crude bomb in the garbage dump.

Most of them who lost their lives in the blast are said to be children. The condition of another six persons was said to be critical and reports indicate that they were battling between life and death. The police sources said that the intensity of explosion was low.
