The income tax officials have conducted raids on the offices of Pune Warriors at the franchise’s office in Mumbai. The officials have checked certain key documents and bank accounts. The IT sleuths have also reportedly posed series of questions on Pune Warriors’ top management. It may be noted that based on a sting operation conducted by a top channel, the IT department conducted these raids. Reportedly, no key documents were obtained during the raid.
It may be recalled that Pune Warriors cricketer Monish Mishra has revealed certain controversial details during the sting operation. He said that all players were given extra money to the players and said he received one crore rupees. Irked over these statements, the sports ministry ordered black money probe into alleged irregularities in IPL.
