Indian worker kills another in Singapore

A missing Indian construction worker was found murdered near a flyover on Thursday at Singapore. The body of the disease had to be identified by his kin. Probably the identification had been done. Police tracked down the murderer who was also an Indian construction worker. On February 8 this year, the accused was convicted by a court, The Straits Times reported.

The case pertains to Raju Arivazhagan (31), who was found missing, after celebrating the South Indian Hindu festival of Thaipusam. He was a construction worker working in Singapore since the last six years. Later his body was found abandoned under a fly-over. Police investigating the case took, another worker hailing from India, Periyasamy Devarajan (20) in to control. Devarajan was a native of Trichirapalli, Tamil Nadu. He was accused of killing Raju, reasons yet to be revealed.

Devarajan was in remand for a week and was later convicted for murder. This carries a mandatory death penalty in the country. (With inputs from internet: AarKay)
