Compromise, ideal trait for marital bliss: World’s longest married couple

Long married couples in east is a common phenomenon, though of course is slowly changing trends. But in Western world longest married couple is a rare issue. But celebrating the 78th anniversary is surely the rarest in both worlds. But Wilbur and Teresa Faiss of Las Vegas have achieved this rare distinction. The couple married in 1933 and with Wilbur now hundred years old is a pride to mankind.

A group called the Worldwide Marriage Encounter certified the marriage as the nation's longest ongoing union. On a recent trip to Nevada, President Obama was even scheduled to deliver brief remarks acknowledging the couple. But they missed the event. US President Obama has promised to honor them in their hometown.

If you ask the hubby his secret for a long marital bliss, he crisply chips in to say, “It's very simple. It's give and take and compromise." Modest couple Wilbur and Teresa Faiss had no idea their wedded bliss would make history. But today the couple stands as tall, as the statue of Liberty and garners global admiration. Wishesh wishes the couple to cross the century partnership, while being the beacon of light in this ever diminishing marital tolerance era.
