A 6.2 strong earthquake rocked the northeastern coast of Japan this morning and the epicenter of the quake was traced to 140 miles (220 kilometers) east of Tokyo at a depth of 10 km.
Fortunately, there are no immediate reports of loss of life or property following the quake. Japan’s Meteorological Agency said there is no immediate danger of tsunami from the quake.
Japan was hit by a massive earthquake followed by a tsunami on March 11 resulting in the death of 20, 000 people and heavy loss of property. The tsunami also crippled a nuclear power plant sending radiation and forcing the evacuation of more than one lakh people.
