A mild earthquake took place in some parts of Hyderabad. The earthquake was witnessed in Padmavathi Colony, Devaiah Basthi , Bhavani Nagar and Borabanda. Begumpet and Punjagutta are other places that have also experienced the mild earthquake for three seconds.

However, in Hyderabad, it is not clear, whether it is an earthquake or the impact created by something else. In Srikakulam district also, the earthquake impact was experienced.

“We noticed a buzzing sound and felt slight tremors that lasted for two to three seconds. It caused panic in the area, for a while,” said K Rajya Lakshmi, a resident of Bhavani Nagar of Borabanda.

The womenfolk of the area were playing Bathukamma during that time and despite the tremors, they continued to celebrate the festival. It is not clear if it was a mild earthquake or a blast.
