A US army helicopter carrying soldiers crashed today in Afghanistan killing 31 American soldiers. Reports said that the helicopter was shifting its soldiers from one base to another camp when the crash took place.

Meanwhile, Taliban commanders announced they have shot down the helicopter. However, the US has not yet confirmed whether it was an accident or an attack by the Islamic militants that resulted in the crash.
