Pak ends Karachi’s naval base siege

Pak ends Karachi’s naval base siegeThe Pakistani forces have successfully ended the siege of the country’s naval air base in Karachi this morning where heavily armed Taliban terrorists attacked the base and destroyed two surveillance aircraft last night killing 12 security personnel, BBC reported a while ago.

BBC quoted naval sources as saying that the terrorists had taken some staff of the naval air base as hostages who included Chinese military personnel. “The fate of the hostages is not immediately known,” said the BBC.

It is also immediately not known how many hostages were there in the hands of the terrorists. Meanwhile, the Taliban reportedly said that the attack was in response to the killing of Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden on May 2 by US commandos.
