

There are nearly 4,000 Indians working in various projects in Afghanistan such as medical facilities, railway and road construction works.
The 200 Indo Tibetan Border Police personnel who are securing the Indian Embassy in Kabul have been put on high alert.
The Indian embassy was already attacked twice since 2008 and the government has decided to take no chances on the safety and security of the Indian diplomatic staff and the Indian nationals working in various projects in that country.
New Delhi has also requested Kabul to deploy its security personnel too in adequate numbers to protect the Indian missions as well as other assets of India.
The embassy staff and Indians working on developmental projects have been advised to exercise caution, restrict their movements to the minimum and maintain secrecy.
