Even as hundreds of thousands of people have converged on London from all over the world to attend the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton scheduled for 15:30 IST on Friday, crews of the major television channels of the world have camped to grab the important visuals of the ceremonies that will take place in the ancient Westminster Abbey in London.
Fans and supporters of the Royal families have also planned to conduct several street parties across the country to mark the first wedding of Queen Elizabeth’s grand-children.
Following the traditions, Prince William, 28, and commoner Kate, 29, spent their last night as single with the Prince meeting the people who had camped for days by shaking hands with them last night.
Hours before the marriage, major television channels began their live coverage which are being watched by nearly 2 billion people.
While William spent last evening with the dear and near ones like the Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry, Kate and her family stayed at the Goring Hotel, in Belgravia, located nearby Westminster Abbey.
Invitees to the wedding include a global guest list of 1,900 people from royal families from various countries, political leaders and people of different walks of life, including an Indian-origin shopkeeper couple from Kate’s village of Buckleberry.
