The congress MPs, MLAs and MLCs of the Seema Andhra region have reportedly threatened the party high command that they would not hesitate to withdraw support to the Kirankumar reddy government by joining hands with the former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan reddy in case the party agrees to divide the state as per the demand of the pro-Telangana parties and groups.
They even told the high command that their action in such a situation may also lead to the collapse of the UPA government at the center and they should not be blamed for any such developments.
Because of these warnings by the Seema Andhra congress leaders, the party high command is not in a mood to grant Telangana. The party leadership is of the opinion that it would be better to allow things to drift instead of accepting the demand for separate Telangana state and lose power at the Centre.
For this reason only, the realization of separate state of Telangana may not be a possibility in the near future even if the Congress MPs and MLAs of the Telangana area threaten the party high command with resignations. Even if the T congress MPs leave the party, there won’t be any threat to the existence of the government at the centre but the party may really lose power at the Centre if the Seema Andhra MPs quit the party as they have the majority in numbers.
In fact, keeping this possibility in their mind, senior congress MPs Sabbam Hari and Mekapati Rajamohana reddy are moving close to Jagan very openly. Even Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal is maintaining his relations with Jagan just for this purpose only.
After signals and warnings from the Seema Andhra MPs and MLAs, party high command seems to have made things clear to the Telangana congress MPs and MLAs that instead of declaring Telangana and lose power at the Centre, it is better for the party not to declare Telangana and continue in power in Delhi.
