Tata Motors to launch four new EVs:- Tata Motors has been leading the way in the mass market electric vehicle (EV) sector in India. They have already launched the Tigor EV, Nexon EV, Tiago EV, and more recently, the Punch EV. However, the brand is now preparing to release four more mass market EVs by late next year. During the Punch EV launch event, Shailesh Chandra, MD of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, discussed the brand's EV line-up and the new Acti.EV architecture. This advanced architecture will be featured in all upcoming passenger EVs, starting with the Punch EV. Chandra also mentioned that the Curvv EV will be the next SUV from Tata, positioned above the Nexon EV. It will compete with Hyundai's upcoming Creta EV, set to be released early next year. The Curvv EV will have a four-door SUV-coupe body style, similar to the standard Curvv model.
Tata Motors is gearing up to dominate the midsize EV SUV segment with its upcoming Harrier EV. This electric SUV, closely based on the Harrier EV concept showcased at the Auto Expo, will utilize Tata's Gen 2 EV architecture along with the Land Rover-derived Omega platform. While it still shares its foundation with the ICE-powered Harrier, the Harrier EV has undergone significant re-engineering for electrification. Anticipated to hit the market before the turbo-petrol Harrier, the Harrier EV will be followed by the all-new Sierra EV in 2025, marking the revival of an iconic nameplate.
