IPL finale: Titans clash at Chennai

The forty five day cricket carnival, Indian Premier League (IPL) is to end today. The last two teams survived against all odds are Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The titans are set to clash at the M A Chidambaram Stadium Chennai. It is tough fight on the anvil between the captain and his deputy of Team India. Gautam Gambhir who had ensemble all the players for KKR is quite aggressive. On the other hand M S Dhoni is known for his title 'Mr Cool'.  While we wish the match to be won by the most befitting team, a small analysis is given for reader enrichment.

Tournament Benefit:
CSK is on a dream run to grab the honors for the third consecutive time in the fifth season of IPL. On the other hand KKR had a troubled past in the last four seasons and this time has turned out as a dark horse to reign in supremacy.

Venue Benefit:
Obviously CSK has the benefit of playing in front of the home crowds. They have even made the tourneys highest score against the Delhi Dare Devils (222/5) at this venue. However KKR has played against all odds.

Consistency:
CSK has been an average performer and was nowhere in the reckoning in the play-offs. CSK walked in to the play-offs with due courtesy to Deccan Chargers victory on Royal Challengers Bangalore. Or else RCB would have been playing the play off no 2 against Mumbai. However no one knows when Dhoni will wield his willow power. And many a times he had risen to the occasion. Ofcourse it is a general saying that Dhoni is lucky captain when he reaches the final.

Going by the logical thinking the Cup belongs to KKR which has been thoroughly consistent and professional all through the season. And their Captain Gambhir has been in immaculate form. This background of the team is just sufficient to win any tourney.

Players who make the difference:
People to be watched on the KKR side are Gambhir for batting and Sunil Narine for bowling. On the other hand for the CSK, M Vijay and Faf Du Plessis for batting and Dwayne Bravo for bowling are to be watched.

Well we have some dark urns for the day too. They are Jacques Kallis, Pathan, Brendon McCullum and Dhoni, these people if come to terms could tilt the scales.

Game Plan:
While the KKR are batting, Dhoni would like to see the early exit of Gambhir and will go all-out to achieve it. And on the other hand Gambhir would utilize Narine selectively while the CSK is batting. Narine has troubled the best of the batsmen in the tourney and even disturbed the master blaster on all his encounters.

However the match is evenly posed for a splendid finish. The star studded affair is sure to go down the memory lanes like the last four seasons. (With Inputs from Internet- Aarkay)
