After making controversial remarks two days ago that Indians were not as large hearted as Pakistanis, the Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi tried to make amends saying that he was quoted out of context and said he truly loved Indians.
In what is seen as a damage control exercise, Afridi told a TV channel in Karachi today that he enjoyed his cricket in India and loved the Indian people. “I was misunderstood in my earlier comments,” he said making amends.
Afridi, participating in a function in Islamabad two days ago, said that Indian media was not positive and the Indian people were not as large hearted as the Pakistanis.
“Media makes a big deal of small issues. It is shameful. I have always done my bit to improve Indo-Pak ties but sometimes you say something and it is interpreted the other way. I have been quoted out of context,” Afridi said.
