kochi-won-over-mumbia-indiaDebutant Kochi Tuskers Kerala achieved a hat trick on Wenesday by defeating the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) with a six-run victory at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata and posting their third successive win in the on going IPL season-4.

Mahela Jayawardene, who won the toss and decided to bat first, gave a brisk start to his Tuskers by making 25 runs with five fours out of 27 balls which helped the team reach 132. Given the target of 133 for victory, Knight Riders, failing to reach the score, ended up with 126 for nine in 20 overs. It is their second loss in five matches.

Mahela Jayawardene, who captained the Sri Lankan team in the past, showed his mettle as a remarkable captain in the last three league matches in a row after losing the first two matches.

Jayawardene showed his seasoned experience as captain, managed his field with unexplainable rhythm and made the changes in bowling with precision sharpness to choke the KKR batsmen to death.
