Will Chris Gayle bag IPL title for RCB

Will Chris Gayle bag IPL title for RCBDefending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in a short while from now in the Indian Premier League final at the Chidambaram stadium in Chennai to reclaim their IPL title in a row for the second time.

Reports said that the wicket was specially prepared to suit the CSK owned by N Srinivasan, secretary and president-elect of the BCCI that owns and runs the IPL.

Chennai Super Kings, led by the Indian captain MS Dhoni, faces the biggest threat from Chris Gayle, the West Indies opener, who has been on a destructive mode and was amassing runs for the RCB after he joined the team as a replacement for the injured Dirk Nannes.

The muscularly tough left-hander has scored 608 runs from just 11 innings to emerge as the highest run-getter in the Twenty20 competition ahead of the likes of Sachin Tendulkar in the present season.

RCB captain Daniel Vettori is hopeful of Gayle repeating his magic performance of the previous league matches and help his team bag the maiden IPL title after ending up as losing finalists in the 2009 edition.
