Google kicks off 'Start Searching India'

Global major Google has kicked off its 'Start Searching India' campaign in a bid to increase internet usage in rural areas. The campaign will start with Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal.

India has little internet penetration, offering immense opportunities for growth. With e-governance applications begin filed online in Bhopal, Google is targeting the city to enhance internet usage. A rising number of internet users have also prompted the company to pick the city for its kick off.

Start Searching India was initiated by the search giant to enhance internet penetration all over the country and not just just urban areas.

Google India Marketing Director Sandeep Menon was quoted by Indiatimes as saying that the fast emerging internet tool is no longer restricted to working professionals as it caters to the varied needs of people from all walks of life.
