The investigations on the newest "exposes" in the US are going high with the private and financial data's of Who's Who in the US being leaked online for public viewership. This included the details of the First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and several other government figures and celebrities like singer Jay-Z, Beyonce among others.
The details were obtained illegall via a common website that uses credit cards, Equifax Inc said. Equifax Inc in fact has launched its own investigation to see where things went wrong. Though it is not sure how much of the data tally's with the real facts, this could be a cause for personal security.
All details were posted on www.exposed.su; which remained online even on Tuesday, a day after it was posted. Details posted included social security numbers, telephone numbers, addresses and credit reports of at least 18 major figures in America. A few of the phone numbers were verified to be fake, however.
On opening the site a woman in thick makeup with a finger over her lips, suggesting secrecy, appeared with links to the data. Some of the links were down. In the list were FBI director Robert Mueller, attorney-general Eric Holder, former secretary of state Hillary Clinton, Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck, actors Ashton Kutcher and Arnold Schwarzenegger and property mogul Donald Trump.
Secret Services was making progress in their investigation but refused to comment since the investigation was not complete. LAPD said that they started the investigations from their end too but they would required the complaint from the celebrities themselves to have their investigations done.
If such prominent figures can be hacked, your accounts aren't safe either. Don't use your credit cards on public computers, don't share private details over the internet. Change your passwords often and avoid cliched combinations.
