Trick or Treat with Google Doodle

The last day of October is widely celebrated as Halloween is most countries around the world, particularly the West where several people dress up as haunted characters, superheroes etc and gather for a Halloween party. Google has commemorated the day, when people embrace the ghosts, with its unique and interactive Google Doodle.

Google invites you to trick-or-treat at Mansion #13 (hinting at it being a haunted one). The clattering of the doors tells you that you can click on a particular location. A few other objects in the environment are interactive too. Click on the doors to reveal the Google logo hidden amongst the haunted characters hidden discreetly behind the doors. The background noise makes the eerie atmosphere more like Halloween. However, for the faint, a speaker logo at the lower right allows you to turn off the sound.

Click on the first door in the Happy Halloween Doodle an octopus appears distorted into the shape of the alphabet ā€œGā€. Second door opens when you trick or treat to reveal two red and yellow eyes which are the two ā€œOā€s in the search engine giant's name. A veil hiding a ghost forms the second G on the third door. There is an interactive skeleton on the wall beside which a door reveals a slender howling inhabitant for the letter L and the final door to end your miseries would be a smiley monster depicting E.

A crow that caws when you click it, a spooky spider and a alley cat in the trash cans are also interactive. Press the aluminum can to reveal the cat and scare the cat with another click. After the cat runs away you would be redirected to the Happy Halloween search results, a greeting from the Google team.

Though the day has initially been a Christian celebration on the eve of All Saints' Day, the day is now being observed largely by all communities; thanks to the free candy and costumes.
