Tech1Imagine a live with out your mobile, every thing would be out of place. Such is the impact of mobiles, on our lives. With soaring sales, advanced models, numerous apps and service providers offerings, this is the most happening segment globally. Be it the cricket live, Bollywood songs, mobile movies, themes, social networking, everything is happening on the move and on the mobile. The other day at the 'Google Engage...'seminar, Google seems much inclined towards the mobile segment. This surely is an indication that the future lies in the mobiles than anywhere else. The social networking bubble takes the center stage and today's executives can stay with out food, air or water but not without connecting. Horizons have expanded and limitations are distant.

Tech2Imagine this one invention rocks our life as many essentials and luxuries started being swallowed by this mammoth utility tool. First we had the watches out, then the calender, then the PCs and today were are running with out a backup staff altogether. All this with due credits to the mini smart phone on our hands. This service was first inaugurated in June 17 in 1946 in St Louis, Missouri. Officially AT&T launched its Mobile Telephone Service shortly after this. Then we had the huge handsets which started shrinking to the zero size. From mobile phones to smart phone and tabs, from 1g to 3g and 4g shortly, the journey was phenomenal and rapid too. There could be house holed in India with out a washroom but not with out a mobile. Such is the penetration even in the rural parts of this nation.

Tech3On the technology fronts the transition from OG services to Improved Mobile Telephone Service, then on to first generation (1G) analog cellular network, second generation (2G) digital cellular networks, third generation (3G) broadband data services to the current state of the art, fourth generation (4G) native-IP networks. Omg! Technology took the driving seat in revolutionizing this service.

Tech4On the hardware  side too we had giant leaps since 1973 when the first mobile phones appeared. Then we had the the second generation of mobile phones in the 1990s. They were followed by the 3G and smart phones in the early 2000s. But the main advancement was reached in this arena with the arrival of smart phones in the late 2000s. Probably as the utility increased the rates came down with buying power increasing. However the technology difference between the 2G and 3G was data transfer with packet switching rather than circuit switching for data transmission. Only after the advancement to 3G, did the epicenter of Mobile hardware development shift to Japan, which was till date much prevalent in America, Israel and Australia. Now the manufacturing of the high end hardware has been form cheaper Asian markets too. Infact with stiffer competition from the continent even once costly mobiles seem to enter the pockets of the lower income groups too.

Tech5And as for the platforms of display the race toughened with the advancement and transition into 3G. There are a variety of platforms in the market, from windows to Android, the amazing transition is mind blowing. So if you are out there and planning a career, any format of mobile technology seems to be in high demand. Amusing the consumer with latest developments and keep spell bound to increase sales is the modus operandi. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)
