Gluten-free diet will be the biggest trend among the health-conscious people worldwide. According to Google, the most-searched diets in 2013 were Juice Cleanse Diet and Paleo Diet or the Caveman Diet.
A new survey released by Today’s Dietitian, a US nutrition trade magazine, revealed on December 26 that gluten-free diet would be the in thing among the nutrition conscious. Their report is based on a survey of over 500 dietitians on what they think would be the nutrition trend for 2014.
The category includes gluten-free Paleo Diet and the “wheat belly” diet created by Cardiologist William R Davis. A gluten-free diet is based on the principle that wheat is addictive, toxic and compels you to gorge on junk foods.
According to health consultant Dr Jenna A Bell there is no evidence that wheat or elimination of gluten from diets would lead to weight loss or better health, but people are seeing this option as a good means to control weight. The survey further revealed, almost 66 per cent of dietitians believe that people's interest in nutrition is likely to increase.
