Love keeps you healthy

It has been said that those in a relationship seem to have a natural glow on their faces. It's not far from the truth. The heart matters, and matters of the heart are best expressed as love. For overall well being, emotional well being is a necessary criteria.

Many positive and negative reactions in the body are steered by various hormones that are released depending on feelings of happiness or stress. Love, among all these feeling, is the strongest emotion, encompassing affection, kindness and compassion.

Love is either directed towards self or another person. Maybe it's your pet. You give love, get it back, feel amazing. It is an important factor that keeps your body, heart, mind and soul functioning well. It works in ways we cannot count. Some of them are more obvious. It is the antidote to stress, love makes you care more about yourself and it enhances self-esteem.

The act of love making itself improves immunity and reduces pain. Of course, cuddling is one of the most effective ways to sleep well and feel relaxed. Cuddling was found to release Oxytocin, the feel good hormone, into the body. Also, falling in love visibly changes a person's chemistry. Hormones, love, affection, all these contribute towards a healthy body.
