Health benefits right in your kitchen!

Now, this makes me remember of the days my grandmother and mother used to treat any injury or cut, with turmericā€¦ in the process of growing up and learning new things, we must have forgot the health benefits our own spices available in the kitchen would provideā€¦ let us go back to those golden days and cherish the health benefits available in our kitchen spices;

No doubt, first amongst these comes Turmeric. Turmeric helps in the fight against cancer. Turmeric also helps in minimizing liver damages caused by taking excessive alcohol consumption or regular use of pain-killers. And no wonder why grandmothers across the country advise one to have a warm glass of milk with turmeric in case of cold and cough. This is the immediate relief to avoid the septic affect of any cut or injury.

Heeng is not only best to add perfect taste in dal, rasa, or sambar but is a bliss for our health. This flavoring agent has wonderful health benefits as it helps in digestion. Heeng helps to treat excessive menstruation in woman, prevents cancer, improves overall general health and of course, enhances the taste of our dishes.

Jeera, the essential spice in any Indian dish cooked.  So, as the cumin seeds. The Antiseptic properties of cumin can help fight flu by boosting your immune system. A cup of water boiled with cumin seeds, ginger, basil leaves and honey, can give great relief. Cumin helps control stomach pain, indigestion, diarrhoea, nausea and morning sickness. Cumin seeds also contain a good amount of iron. It's a good idea to include jeera in everyday preparations like parathas, curries, cookies, soups, rice and lentil preparations.
